Anyone who has been in Maine for even a short time probably has enjoyed a Bean meat of some sort. Weiler A. Bean was one of the original partners of the wholesale meat firm of W.A.Bean & Sons. Weiler Bean purchased this car new in 1928 from Knowles & Dow in Bangor for $2200 and it remained in the family until it was donated to the Museum in 1992.Many hours over several years were spent by Weiler's son Frederick and wife Colleen restoring it to its present magnificent condition - so magnificent that in 1971 it was chosen antique car of the year by the Maine Obsolete Auto League. The restorers are people with the natural ability of minute attention to detail, and that talent is markedly in evidence in this automobile. It has a six-cylinder Master Six engine mounted on a 128-inch wheelbase. The brakes are mechanical external like those in the Museum's brake display.
